Wishlist Wednesday: Inspired by Conversation Hearts

When I think about Valentine’s Day, my first thought isn’t flowers or chocolate or romance…it’s conversation hearts.

Yeah, those chalky little candies. I don’t know why. I don’t even really like the damn things. (Though I can make an exception if they’re in the form of that cake up there. Those candies are decorating an absolutely delicious-sounding strawberries and cream cake made by Ali at Gimme Some Oven. I want to eat that. Actually, I want to eat a lot of the stuff on that site…)

Since conversation hearts are my (understandable but a little weird) go-to Valentine’s Day mental image, I thought that today I’d show you guys some gorgeous pieces that come in colors to match them! This entry is going to be heavy on pictures and rather light on information. I usually include shopping options and links to reviews on my Wishlists, but life is hectic right now, as I alluded to in my last post. The happy news is that it’s hectic because my 17 year old sister has come to live with us, but unhappily, that comes with quite a lot of paperwork to fill out, phone calls to make (I hate phone calls so much), and errands to run. Hopefully things will be calming down around here shortly. I am including available sizes here, though. I know how much it sucks to fall in love with a bra and not know if it comes in your size until you investigate further. Best to get the disappointment over with quickly, I think!

Anyway, on to the undies! Continue reading

Wishlist Wednesday: Pink!

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, so I thought I’d continue my color-themed Wishlists with pink this week. Pink is a difficult color for me. I’m not anti-pink or anything, but I don’t own or wear much of it. Definitely not on my list of favorite colors. So this list was actually a little hard for me to put together, but I came up with four sets that belong to the pink family that I would actually enjoy wearing.

Wishlist Wednesday: Neutrals (and my problem with nude)

I mentioned in last week’s Wishlist Wednesday that while color can really bring out the beauty in a bra that isn’t always apparent in a beige, there are some beige bras that I really like the look of. Here are some of them!

One of my favorites is Freya’s Lacey Plunge Balcony bra in Cafe Latte. I don’t know if a non-molded plunge would work better for me than a molded one (which is “not well at all”) but I’m willing to try for polka dots. Lacey is available in 28 D-G, 30 D-K, 34-36 C-K, and 38 C-JJ. Matching brief and thong available in XS-XL, short available in 2XL. (UK sizing)

Where can I buy this?
Freya’s website shows the Lacey as part of their “Essentials” (i.e. neutral continuity line, generally), but several shopping sites are showing this model as discontinued. It is still available at FreshPair.

I’m here for the reviews!
Great reviews can be found at Bras and Body Image and Busts 4 Justice!

Wishlist Wednesday: Purple!

Happy New Year! I’m super excited for 2014! Want to know one of the reasons why?

Because Affinitas/Parfait gave The Lingerie Journal a sneak peek of their AW14 line, and this beauty is in there! Purple Charlotte, you guys! I’m so buying that!

Purple is a funny color for me. I like purple, but I’m very, very picky about it. It’s not even a matter of liking some shades better than others, though I tend to prefer darker purples (but not always.) I don’t have an art or design background to draw from to explain myself articulately here, but I guess I need the color and design to work together in some mysterious way. For instance, Parfait’s Danielle (AW13) looks fairly similar to the upcoming Charlotte, colorwise, but it just doesn’t speak to me.

Again, it’s not the design; I rather like the “dusty rose” version of this set. And it’s not the color; this is a color I like and I know looks good on me. It’s something about the way that the color and the design work together that unfortunately falls flat for me.
So what purple bras do I like right now? Here’s three more of them, presented in no order and selected for reasons that I can’t really specify!

Wishlist Wednesday: Obligatory Red And Green Edition

One week until Christmas! I have so much stuff to do! I’m super behind schedule! Which is why you guys are getting a holiday wishlist at an incredibly late date. I honestly don’t know if anyone can still ship this stuff by next Wednesday without expensive rush fees. Sorry about that. But, hey, New Years gifts are nice, too!

First up, the Angie set from Masquerade.

Reminiscent of Parfait’s Charlotte, with those black stripes, but in a deeper (and fancier, in my opinion) red. Less “cheesecake,” more “opulence.” Not that there’s anything wrong with cheesecake; you know how I love my Charlotte. Angie balconette available in 28-38 D-H, briefs and thong in 8-18.

Wishlist Wednesday: Cozy Robes

Seriously, I cannot stand being cold. Cannot. Stand. It.  Unfortunately, I live in Pennsylvania, and about five minutes away from Lake Erie, at that. What that means is that it’s pretty much a guarantee that I’ll be cold for the next four to six months.

This is why my sinuses are always angry.

This is why my sinuses are always angry.

One of the ways that I cope with this miserable weather is by spending a lot of my at-home time wrapped up in a cozy robe. Well, that and copious amounts of hot coffee. My current robes (yes, plural) are getting a little threadbare so I’ve been doing some Internet browsing. I present you with four snuggle-up-in-able robes that I’ve found.

Wishlist Wednesday: Wiesmann Lingerie

Last month there was a review on Venusian Glow for a bra from a company that I hadn’t heard of before. This is the bra:

How beautiful is that? It’s the Tiffany balconette from Wiesmann Lingerie. Turns out that Wiesmann is a smaller Polish lingerie company, and even Eternal*Voyager from Venusian Glow hadn’t heard of them. And she’s been blogging about bras way longer than I have. Her review is favorable, so I decided to see what else Wiesmann has to offer. Continue reading

Wishlist Wednesday: Babydolls

image

image from macys.com

I love babydolls. So pretty, so sexy, theoretically so much more supportive for the bust than chemises.  Yeah, I said theoretically.  I’m pretty sure I’ve never owned a babydoll that actually fit well. Usually the problem is that once I find a size that fits in the cups, the fabric that should be supporting my breasts (where a band would be on a bra) is way too loose. And that means that my boobs slide down underneath the designated boob area. Not cute. At all.

Wishlist Wednesday: Chemises

Quick blog news: The details of the giveaway that I promised a little while ago have been hammered out! If all goes well, it will begin at midnight tonight, so check back in then to see details and to enter! (Don’t worry if that’s too late for you: the giveaway will run for a week.)

I love pretty jammies, but I usually just sleep in whatever shirt I wore that day because I don’t have pretty jammies. Chemises are my current nightwear obsession because they can pull double duty as pajamas and sexytimes outfits. There is also the added bonus of not having to work out an exact bra size (like you would with babydolls, which I plan to write about next week) though the trade off is minimal support.

Here are some chemises that I’m currently coveting.

Wishlist Wednesday: Playful Promises

This showed up on my Facebook feed a few days ago. I reposted it with the caption “Stunning!” I love the blue/orange color combo, I love the high-waisted briefs, and I love the longline bra. The company, Playful Promises, is one I haven’t heard of before, so I was immediately off to check out their website. Continue reading
