Curvy Kate Tease Me Review

Damn Curvy Kate and their beautiful bras!

Damn Curvy Kate and their beautiful bras!

I just don’t know when to quit. I said that I was happy enough with the Thrill Me. And I was, I really, really was. At least I was happy with it until I saw a Bratabase listing offering a 32F Tease Me in exchange for a 30F Curvy Kate Showgirl. That’s when my mind started going “what if?” What if going up a cup size in a balcony style Showgirl locks down the right fit? See, the Tease Me is the only CK Showgirl bra that I haven’t tried yet. The 30FF Tempt Me seemed basically okay in the cups but the plunge style wasn’t working out. I traded that for the 30F Thrill Me, which ended up being just a smidgen too small. I really hoped that the Tease Me would be my “baby bear’s bed” of the Showgirl collection. Is it?

Wishlist Wednesday: Playful Promises

This showed up on my Facebook feed a few days ago. I reposted it with the caption “Stunning!” I love the blue/orange color combo, I love the high-waisted briefs, and I love the longline bra. The company, Playful Promises, is one I haven’t heard of before, so I was immediately off to check out their website. Continue reading

Just Peachy Lace Non Padded Balconette Part 1: 34E

image

This bra is the first bra in ordered in my “correct size” according to several different online calculators, along with two others that fit so badly that I got rid of them. It’s not the best fit, but it’s workable. Plus it was one of two bras I owned at the time that were anywhere close.

I really want to stress that there is nothing wrong with the online calculators that I used. Some of them are linked in the “Resources” section at the top of the page. Reputable online calculators are as accurate as it gets outside of a professional fitting. Sometimes they give the correct size, but sometimes all they can do is provide a good starting point. An online calculator just can’t account for the wide variance of breast type and shape. For me personally, I usually need to move down one size from the given 34 E in both the band and the cup. Pretty sure this is because of soft breast tissue and fat around the ribcage.

Anyway, on to the review!

I’m Pretty Proud of Myself

A few cool things have happened lately. The first thing is that the blog has broken it’s personal record for page views for the past 3 days, consecutively. Not huge numbers by any means, but still awesome. Generally I try not to pay too much attention to my stats, but record-breaking is always fun. And who knows?  Maybe someday I’ll get enough hits to earn dozens of dollars a year from advertising.  Dozens,  I tell you! You jealous? I think I’ll buy a pony then. Anyway, thanks, everyone!

Virtual kittens for all!!!

The second cool thing is that Lunaire has offered to send me one of their bras to review! I’ve been walking around all dazed and smiley because of it. A lot of bloggers receive products to review, but I never assumed that I would, especially so soon.  My blog is pretty new, and my following (while growing steadily) is nowhere near the following of most of the bloggers that I admire. I offer my sincere appreciation to Lunaire for giving me this opportunity.

Why am I jabbering to you guys about this stuff? I’m feeling celebratory! And I want to share all the happy feelings. So I’m planning to do a giveaway soon! I haven’t worked out any details at all yet! (Everyone just said “Yay!…Wait, nope.” I’m sorry!) But I will get something together, so keep an eye out!

Self Esteem, Body Acceptance, And Being In My Undies On The Internet

images (1)

content note: I’m going to be talking about body-shaming stuff.  If that’s a trigger for you, proceed with caution. Also, this post contains more swear words than normal. (Man, I thought I was done with writing trigger warning when I abandoned my old blog.) By the way, this post is pretty long. If you start to get bored and want to give up, do yourself a favor and check out the links at the bottom before you leave.

Something Else Sundays: Honey Hair Lightening

I'm gonna put honey in that!

I’m gonna put honey in that!

Occasionally, I seem to go through phases where I am very, very interested in natural or alternative beauty methods.  Not because of any noble aspirations to be more green or to avoid harmful chemicals (though those things are good things and I should focus on them more); I’m just cheap and curious.

b’tempt’d Soft Touch Push-Up Review

Please excuse the “selfies in the bathroom” pictures for this review. My bathroom has the second-best lighting in the house. I usually take the pictures in the hallway but both of my kids were asleep by the time I got around to this and I didn’t want to chance waking them. So I balanced my phone on the medicine cabinet shelf, stood on a (closed) training potty, and did my best. Like the pros do. 🙂 Anyway, to the reviewing!

Better than I expected for a molded cup bra from the clearance rack at Marshalls. Surprisingly better.
